Photos of Maui from Rebecca Johnston

Rebecca Johnston, a wonderful friend of ours, has given me permission to post some of her Maui photos to my blog.  I'm so excited to share them with all of you.   They really depict the beauty of the island.

Photo was taken at a luau.
Old Lahaina Luau is Maui's traditional hula and feast in Lahaina Maui.
A note from Rebecca:
"Do not to get too excited when you have "preferred" seating. It does NOT mean front row. It means the front tables. They are long, banquet style tables and there are about 4 of them together in the front section (so about a 40ish foot table), so you can be seated anywhere in that front section."
Volcanic landscapes and sub-tropical rain forest can be found here.

Did you know that Lahaina has a Banyan Tree that is 50 feet tall and a quarter of a mile around!  WOW, that has to be an amazing site.   Read more about it here.

Rebecca, thank you for sharing your photos with us.  They really show the beauty.  Can't wait to see Maui and experience this first hand.

  1. The entire evening was perfect down to the umbrella in my Mai Tai, which they began serving while we waited to enter the grounds. We were escorted to our table by a Hawaiian native dressed in traditional attire, we heard the Old Lahaina Luau was authentic, but every ounce of our evening was infused Hawaiian culture. After we located our seats, we were encouraged to walk the grounds where we could view a number of traditional items being handcrafted, ultimately making our way to the waters edge where we experienced our most memorable red sunset on Maui. During our stay we enjoyed many Maui restaurants, but I have to say that the incredible variety of Hawaiian cuisine served at the Old Lahaina Luau topped any other meal on our vacation.
